Article Marketing: New Rules for Massive Traffic

Over the next few weeks I am going to expose the seven critical factors you must have in your articles to be effective in 2008 and beyond

For many of us Internet marketers getting traffic from article marketing has been a constant reliable source for years, the article directories are always hungry for good unique content.

This is still the case to some extent but there is no doubt the effectiveness has deceased if you use the same old methods that worked in 2005-6.

With the massive amounts of plain crap content that has been produced with all the junkie article spinners it's no wonder you have to produce high quality articles in a certain way to get the traffic now!

So how do we attract the attention of Google etc to rank our articles and get traffic like we used to?

1. Keywords

Yes I know there is a huge amount of info about keywords and long tails, but the fact remains that this is the most crucial factor that will determine the success of your article.

I have been extremely fortunate to be part of the most phenomenal keyword and market intelligence tool available to the public anywhere in the world (Themezoom) this tool makes all the others, (and yes I have all of them) look like $5 shareware!

This is not a plug for Themezoom as I am pretty sure the place is closed to new members now, it is giving a basis for the understanding of how to construct an article and website for that matter, that gets eaten up by Google and the others big time, and is considered authority content.

Step 1- Selecting your theme keyword

Selecting your keyword theme is the most critical aspect for your article. Much has been written about keyword density and placement, but if you want your article to rank well you must select the right keyword theme and supporting keywords.

Two factors dictate how we will choose our keyword theme.

They are:

1. Search numbers

2. Competing pages numbers

The trick here is to find the real numbers and not go by the unreliable numbers that most keyword tools return. There are a couple of ways to find a much more accurate measure of the traffic and competing pages which will make a massive difference to the success of your article.

In the next instalment of article marketing in 2008, we will discuss exactly how to find the right numbers and the secret to choosing the numbers that will work.

If you market online and haven't yet started producing your own videos, whether simple Camtasias with or without voice or full motion video then you are losing out on massive traffic opportunities everyday that you wait!

Sure it has been said many times how important doing video is now, but I still talk to other internet marketers every week that keep putting off making those videos to promote either affiliate products or their own products. And here is the critical part and why you just can't wait any longer, the number one reason that people tell me why they put it off is fear of coming off sounding unprofessional, looking stupid or learning the tech side to video.

This is the very reason the people who do get into video and multimedia online are those who will win in the end.

Think about it, most of us will happily create written content, articles, blog posts, comments etc because we remain somewhat anonymous, but when we create video with us speaking or live on the camera, the fear of performing steps in, and I totally understand this because it took me months to get comfortable with filming myself, even doing just the audio was hard at the beginning, but once I got over it and began posting video for content and adding video to my sales pages….WHAM! traffic exploded, sales tripled and most of all it was fun to do.

Here is a saying that one of the best business teachers I have had the privilege of learning from, "Do it once and get paid forever" example, write the book or make the film and get paid forever.

Here's the kicker; your videos don't have to be TV production quality, far from it, some of my best performing are average to say the least.

Here's why, the unpolished video comes across more real to people, it seems more genuine!

BUT! there are extremely important aspects to make the video work, like keeping folks engaged, not boring them

So here is where you come in

I'm going to show you exactly how I went from stammering newbie to quietly competent and confident, notice the lack of expert there, thats because I'm not an expert and you absolutely don't need to be as you will see.

Affiliate Marketing The Squidoo Way

Having been an online marketer for over 5 years and being guilty of buying just about every internet marketing product that has come out; it's rare to see an affiliate marketing/ internet marketing strategy that is truly ground breaking. But I have to say the new Squidoo marketing strategy and technique is mind blowing, and I'm not talking the everyday Squidoo secrets that has the resell rights and everyone knows about…no, I'm talking seriously get you on the front page of Google in the top ten in 4-7 days!!

I wanted to test this for at least a few months before writing about it, just in case there was an algorithm change and it was short lived.
